The School of Music within the National Institute of Creative Arts and Industries is seeking to appoint a Public Programmes Coordinator. The School of Music is one of the largest of its kind in New Zealand and runs an extensive programme of concerts, workshops and events with staff, students and visiting guest artists.
Liaising with external artists and contractors and working collaboratively with key colleagues from within the School of Music, the successful applicant will be responsible for all operational aspects of concert and event presentation. Duties also include working closely with the Public Programmes Manager to effectively position the School of Music through strategies and marketing campaigns designed to develop various audience and community bases.
The position requires strong organisational and events management skills, along with excellent interpersonal, time management, desktop publishing and public relations skills. High level oral and written communication skills and the willingness to work on selected evenings and weekends are essential. Knowledge of the music industry through study or performance and experience of music in a tertiary education context will be viewed favourably. Job share may be considered for the right applicants.
