NL2184: National Manager, Service Delivery and Transformation - Services to Schools, National Library of New Zealand

(Auckland or Christchurch based)

The National Library’s New Generation Strategy and the imminent integration of the National Library as part of the Department of Internal Affairs has set clear directions for the Library as a place of change, development, innovation and creativity. Services to Schools contributes by supporting literacy and learning in New Zealand schools, developing a nation of readers with the skills and literacies to be confident and creative users of information, connected with their culture and heritage.

This is a senior leadership role within the Literacy, Learning and Public Programmes team. It has responsibility for leading the delivery of high quality, sustainable and effective 21st century library and information services for educators and learners in all New Zealand schools. This includes access to curriculum and literacy resources and advisory support for school library development.

We are looking for an energetic and collaborative leader with the competencies to:
· provide engaging and motivational leadership for the team;
· effectively manage a geographically distributed team;
· develop practical and robust business solutions;
· optimise service delivery processes; and
· support staff to build the professional competencies required for the future.

With the ability to develop and implement innovative solutions for the business, you will engage with staff and work closely with the Literacy, Learning and Public Programmes leadership team to transform our customer services for the future.
