Our Marketing and Communications directorate has recently undergone its own transformation and we’re looking for talented people to join us.

Based in our Mt Albert campus and reporting to the Executive Director Marketing and Communications, the Director Customer Journey will lead the development of marketing to and in support of the customer journey and student lifecycle within Unitec.

From proactive involvement with prospective domestic students (recruitment and partnership relationships) through to currents students and then alumni you will raise the high bar when it comes to creating effective awareness of Unitec and its programmes with a view to long term partnerships be they with students, alumni, secondary schools, other tertiary or private training establishments, industry and community.

Working closely with the newly created directorate leadership team and across the institute you will champion the customer journey experience constantly looking to innovate and improve the way we engage with our customers and key influencers.

You’ll be a strong networker and negotiator with the ability to motivate and challenge people to understand and support all aspects of the Unitec customer journey experience.

We’re looking for an exceptional senior marketer and someone who has:

  • Ten years plus experience in marketing and/or customer management and successfully leading and motivating diverse teams
  • Demonstrated leadership/ownership of significant and successful marketing programmes which have involved engagement with customers to understand their needs, measurement of customer satisfaction levels and feedback loops to enhance ongoing service levels
  • Demonstrated effective creative and innovative marketing
  • Experience in leading effective change in complex organisations
  • Strong relationship management skills
  • Experience in management of third party creative suppliers
  • Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills
  • Developed, controlled and managed budgets
  • Demonstrated understanding and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi
  • Understanding of marketing to diverse target
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in marketing
