Education Officer LEOTC (Parental Leave Cover)
Sarjeant Gallery is seeking an enthusiastic Education Officer (primary through to secondary) to develop and deliver curriculum-based Learning Experiences Outside The Classroom programmes within the Gallery and actively promote them to the education community.
The principal accountabilities for this position include:
- Coordinate the on-going content and structure of LEOTC programmes
- Develop and deliver education programmes to meet LEOTC contract requirements
- Liaise with schools and teachers to promote programmes
- Schedule and manage school visits within an appropriate administrative framework
- Ensure ongoing evaluation of the programme to enable the reporting of outcomes
- Manage the programme within budget and performance targets.
You will possess excellent verbal communication skills and have an ability to motivate others. A teaching or relevant tertiary qualification together with experience of innovative classroom practice is preferred and a sound understanding of the New Zealand Arts Curriculum and its application.
This is a full time, six month fixed term position to cover maternity leave, with likelihood of job share on return of the current incumbent.
