Maori & Pasifika playwright workshops
Banana Boat Writers Group with the support of Playmarket & Auckland City Council Creative Communities will be holding workshops and labs as part of Pasifika Festival 2010
Maori & Pacific playwrights are encouraged to submit full scripts to be selected for either a half day workshop with James Wilson (Massive Company) or a one on one play lab with Albert Belz. (Whero's New Net, Awhi Tapu).
Your application must contain the following
- Full script
- contact details with daytime number
- short synopsis ( one paragraph)
- list of all characters
- all script pages numbered

JENNI HEKA
Jenni is the Maori and Pacific Island Playwright Development Coordinator for Playmarket. She also freelances in theatre production, and on the odd occasion does a bit of acting. She has fifteen years experience within television, film, theatre, festivals and museums, both nationally and internationally.
Jenni is a passionate advocate for creating and developing new Maori and Pasifika theatre, both in productions and in opportunities for practitioners. As a freelance producer, she has worked with Loud & Brown Limited and Kila Kokonut Krew. She is also one of the coordinators of the Banana Boat Writers group, which meets on the fourth Thursday of every month.The BANANA BOAT is a loose collective of Pasifika writers who meet once a month in Grey Lynn, Auckland.
