Community Artist - Circus & Physical Theatre
Auckland city council is seeking up to 12 circus and physical theatre community artists to teach skills to the Riverside Community Circus children. The project coordinator of the program, Hayley Hansell, will roster community artists in 4 – 6 week blocks, or according to community artist availability. This program has run for two years and the children are committed and excited to learn a range of new performance skills. This program runs every week after school in term time. This year we will also offer the children longer workshops in the holidays. The community circus program is all about supporting the children to reach their potential and express themselves creatively through physical performance. There are two performance showcases per year at the Riverside Community Centre, where the children perform what they have learned for the community.
Workers are needed from the start of February onwards. A minimum of 1 – 1.5 hours per week is required. Contract fees will be negotiated according to previous teaching experience.
