Auckland Arts Festival 2011 presents White Night
Call for White Night Ambassadors
6pm to midnight
Saturday 12th March
White Night will be the biggest arts event on Auckland’s 2011 calendar and we need YOU to be part of it!
Over 50 galleries, museums and cultural centres all over Auckland are opening their doors with FREE exhibitions, harbour cruises, performances, music, artist talks and more.
We are after an enthusiastic bunch of volunteers who will act as the first point of contact for White Night. Approachable and enthusiastic, you will excite and interest the public to check out the many awesome White Night events on offer.
We will provide FREE lunch and dinner, unlimited Café L’Affare coffee, a FREE Auckland Arts Festival t-shirt and an awesome experience to throw on your CV.
. Roles include:
- Visiting participating galleries and creating bunches of balloons to be hung outside each gallery
- Blowing up and handing out helium white balloons along with White Night brochures
- Informing and exciting the public about White Night.
- Catching the hop-on hop-off buses around the city centre and maybe South Auckland, while chatting to the public about White Night events.
- Directing visitors to galleries, bus stops and anything else they may be searching for.
- Visiting participating Galleries and making sure everything is running smoothly.
- Being my eyes and ears if something goes awry.

You can also choose a particular region to volunteer in (first in first serve!), and if you have a passion for Visual Arts this is a great opportunity for you to make connections with local galleries, curators and owners.

- Auckland Arts Festival
The 2013 Auckland Arts Festival (6-24 March) will be Auckland's sixth Arts Festival, a biennial event that has become a firmly established part of the Australasian and International arts and cultural calendar. The Festival will again present outstanding work from many of New Zealand's foremost artists, and international work never before seen in this country, across theatre, music, dance and the visual arts. There is also an array of free events for the whole family to enjoy .
Over the past five festivals, the Auckland Arts Festival has built a reputation for presenting top quality work from around the world, which would otherwise not be seen in Auckland. Highlights include the marvellous 2011 Smoke and Mirrors cabaret show and the unique Manganiyar Seduction from the deserts of India. 2007 display from pyrotechnic artists Group F, the 2009 theatrical masterworks by Japanese company Ishinha, and the legendary Robert Lepage's company Ex Machina, sell-out cabaret sensations La Clique in both 2007 and 2009, and many more.
Join us on Facebook or visit www.aucklandfestival.co.nz for the up and coming 2013 festival announcements.
