Call for Expressions of Interest

The Wellington Sculpture Trust is seeking expressions of interest for the Katherine Mansfield Sculpture project in Wellington.

We are proud to be working on this unique project with the Wellington City Council and the Katherine Mansfield Society. The aim is to honour Mansfield as New Zealand’s greatest writer and as a leading exponent of literary Modernism. The sculpture should celebrate Mansfield and also serve as an attraction and learning tool for locals and tourists alike.

The panel is seeking a work that captures the essence and the spirit of Mansfield, with no pre-conceived preference as to whether this is caught figuratively or in another creative language.

An expression of interest should include a C.V. of your work in the visual arts, illustrations of previous works that you feel relevant to this project, and confimation that if selected you would be willing to submit a design concept by 31 March 2010. These expressions may be by an individual artist or as a collaborative submission between more than one artist. We would welcome either.
