The Hawkins Theatre in Papakura serves as a gateway to the South Auckland performing arts scene providing essential services to schools and the performing arts industry. We also provide a balanced programme of community and professional events to the general audience.

Owned by Papakura District Council this professionally run boutique South Auckland theatre is looking for 2 positions: Marketing and Communications, and 'the' Theatre Assistant.

 

The Theatre Assistant will manage the administration and ticketing services, and provide marketing, and facilities support to the Theatre Manager.

This role is a newly created fixed permenant position within Community Services division of Papakura District Council, based at the Hawkins Theatre in Papakura.

 You will need to be very well organised and have an appropriate tertiary qualification in Arts Management, Communications or Marketing and / or substantial administration experience in a similar working environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential. A high level of computer literacy is essential along with the necessary financial management skills.

Knowledge of Schools Curriculum would be a plus.

And be passionate about the Arts.
