Permanent: Part-Time

Job description:

Q, Auckland’s brand new performing arts venue, is about to start selling tickets to our very first shows and we need some help in the box office to welcome audiences through the door.

Reporting to the Q Ticketing Manager, you will be responsible for ticket sales to Q patrons (in person, online and on the phone) ensuring their experience is a professional and positive one.  As the first port of call for patrons (and the general public) it’s vital that you have a real gift for customer service, so a positive and welcoming attitude is essential.

You will be working alongside Q’s marketing and programming staff to thoroughly understand Q’s program of events in order to actively promote them to customers and maximise ticket sales; and you will be responsible for capturing patron information when taking bookings and ensuring that PatronBase is accurately maintained.

Ideally, you will have about two years’ experience in a ticketing role (preferably in a live venue box office) and experience working with PatronBase, however full training will be given.  You should also have some experience with cash handling as you will be responsible for reconciling the tills at the end of each day and generating daily ticket sales reports.

Q requires several causal staff, but is also looking for one permanent part timer.  The hours will be mixed (depending on when shows are on) so you will need to be flexible and reliable because evening and weekend work will be required.

You will have exceptional attention to detail, be organised with excellent communication skills and a knowledge of, and interest in, arts marketing.
