Contract

Acting
Job description:

The Fannywaterman Collective is seeking a male or female actor to play the Robot in "The Black Hole Menegarie".  The show is part of the Wellington Fringe Festival and will   be performed at BATS theatre from 25th to 28th Feb.

We are seeking an actor who has a good sense of humour and is keen to play a quirky role in which they can have a lot of creative input in this two person show.  The robot sings one song in character, but you don't need to worry too much about the singing side of things.

We would start rehearsing in mid Jan, and would involve a couple of evenings per week in Auckland.   The production week is 24th Feb to 28th Feb in Wellington.

If you are interested in this role please send a brief bio to Jess at jesshaugh@gmail.com and we can arrange an audition time.  Also don't hesitate to contact Jess for info about the show.

Here is a short blurb about the show.

The Black Hole Menegarie:  A Science Fiction musical Comedy

“2010:  A Sexual Odyssey”

Scarlett Lashes awakes to find herself incarcerated in a cocoon of space time travel 27,000 light years away from Earth. Confused and disconcerted she discovers her only companion is a T2500 android as they careen towards the super-massive black hole at the centre of the milky way.

Scarlett soon becomes bored with T2500, and when the vodka runs out she begins recounting her sexual odyssey across the galaxy as she ditches  earthly love and embraces the space fervour.   Yet as the light years pass T2500 android becomes more and more jittery and anxious, concealing the real reason why  they are on this mission.

Watch as Scarlett and T2500 sing and dance across the cosmos.  Will Scarlett and T2500 be crushed as they are pulled towards the centre of the black hole or will they be thrust into a new dimension and a new life?
