Theatre Producer/Publicity & Marketing person

PAYMENT FOR THIS ROLE WILL BE COMMISSION-BASED.

Auckland Playback Theatre is a well-established cohesive company that has been operating successfully for 20+ years.

We have monthly public performances in Ponsonby and also do semi-regular commissioned performances, which is the main area we would like a dedicated and creative PR person on board - we need more gigs and we're all just too busy to organize it properly ourselves!

"We can perform in many varied contexts and require minimal props (which we bring) and need no elaborate staging or sound equipment.  We are often engaged in private performances; such as birthday celebrations, weddings, funerals and anniversaries.  Corporate or organizational performances; for team building, dealing with change, or reflecting on processes.  Community based performances; such as charity events, church meetings, health issues or community change issues. Or we can just simply entertain at your next function....."

YOUR ROLE:

You would be paid a (negotiable) percentage of each commissioned performance you help us book, and/or a percentage of what comes in at the door at our public performances.  The amount and type of work you do to promote us is sort of up to you.  Some of your 'duties' may include:

-creating new contacts for potential commissioned performances and following up with previous clients

-developing and/or distributing brochures, flyers or other promotional material

-upgrades, updates or redesigns to our website

-press releases or getting us radio or tv interviews as relevant, etc

-any other creative ventures you can think of to promote and support our company

You will have the pleasure of working with creative, fun people and be part of a national and international network of Playback companies.  We are a well-established company with a small but loyal 'fan base' of regular patrons.  Our most experienced company members can assist you in getting started with contacts, etc.
