Flute player for stage production

Organisation/person name:
Markus Hofko
Work type:
Casual
Work classification:
Music
Job description:

We are looking for a (semi-) professional flute player for a small orchestra/band accompanying a stage play. Ideally we are thinking of japanese Shakuhachi, but we are open for other options. Generally we are after an earthy sound with a lot of character. Could also be a more classical instrument like a concert flute.

Here's a reference which describes the sound better than my words:

General infos:

The stage play will be ca. 30 minutes long and consist of 5 songs and a few more loose moody parts.

The band/orchestra will consist of 8 musicians.

The play will happen on 2 dates at the Audio Foundation in Auckland:

18th February evening and 19th February afternoon.

This is an unpaid opportunity but we are looking for funding options so this might change.

Also if successful the play could be touring the country with some money involved in return!

I will send you more infos and the song sketches if you are interested.
