Audience Development Director - Circa Theatre

This role provides an exciting opportunity for an individual with arts administration advocacy and networking skills with an interest in audience development to join the staff of Wellington’s leading professional theatre.

The applicant must have experience with arts management, partnership building, hosting, customer service.

Key Elements:

• Maintaining and building Circa’s relationships with audience, sponsors, groups and stakeholders.
• Genesis and implementation of strategic approaches to increase audience.
• Creation and maintenance of Circa’s online presence.
• Working alongside box office, marketing departments and creative teams to ensure the smooth and cohesive implementation of audience development strategies.

Responsibilities:

The Audience Development Director reports to the Circa council and is accountable for the effective creation and implementation of audience development strategies.

• Operational implementation of marketing strategies designed to increase audience.
• Reaching out to the corporate sector to increase group bookings.
• Liasing with the bar and box office on group bookings.
• Running ‘Table for Ten’ programme.
• Creating an overview of incentive strategies that creative partnerships can implement to increase audience on a show by show basis and communicating this to publicity, marketing and box office.
• Managing daily online presence and personality in liaison with marketing and administration departments. Twitter, Facebook, Circa Website.
• Working in the Box Office for two shifts a week as well as an evening hosting role.
• Maintaning and enhancing partnerships.
