3 actors for interactive performance

My name is Sebastian Sommer and I am studying the Master of Theatre Arts in Directing at Victoria University and Toi Whakaari. I am currently exploring possibilities of audience-performer-interactivity and looking for three actors for a performative installation piece end of October.

The performance is called K.ONTROL and is based on Franz Kafka's novel 'The Trial' in which the character K. struggles hopelessly against an overpowering and intangible authority that accuses him of a crime he did not commit. The audience will control the run of the performance via 'gamepads'. Three audience members can press buttons that lead the three actors (K., Guard 1, Guard 2) to perform certain patterns: monologues, movement patterns, scenes, or chorus. The actual performance is being put together by the spectators by controlling what the actors do.

This is a great opportunity to experiment with contemporary interactive theatre in a close collaboration with the director, the set/costume and the media designer. As an actor you should enjoy devising material in workshops, improvisation, sudden changes in the performance and physical work. Also you should be available for rehearsals in the time period from 16/10 - 02/11. The performance takes place on 03/11.
