Waiariki Institute of Technology is looking for a special person to come and join us on our unique Bicultural Journalism qualification to further enhance Waiariki’s position in the community, as well as our role as one of New Zealand’s most respected tertiary institutions.
Our iconic Bicultural Journalism qualification has been going for more than 25 years. You would play a major role in ongoing delivery to students with an interest and willingness to report on bicultural affairs.
Essential skills and attributes:
- Have an excellent knowledge of Te Ao Maori and command of Te Reo Maori with a willingness to encourage students to act and think bicultural while pursuing and recording the news.
- Be a committed and professional newshound with newsroom experience, ideally in broadcasting.
- A passion for modern journalism and a current teaching qualification, or willingness to complete one.
Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work permit.
