Pivotal senior leadership opportunity.
As Auckland City Council's Public Art Manager, you will provide expertise leadership, curatorial vision and strategic direction for public art in Auckland City. You will be a recognised expert and leader in the art sector.
Auckland is developing a new and exciting era for public art. We have a vibrant creative sector and are primed to fulfil the city's potential. Work in line with contemporary art best practise and urban design principles to create permanent, semi permanent and temporary art works that deliver to council's strategic vision to be the First City of the Pacific.
This role provides scope for you to drive a broad and diverse programme, demonstrating your expertise in public art. Build, inspire and lead your team and the wider organisation, creating a culture that values best practice. Be the specialist in your area, supported by a well-resourced team with existing systems and structures in place.
With proven leadership capability, outstanding communication, political acumen, proven collaborative skills and exceptional relationship building skills you will be the city's advocate for public art, having the ability to positively and productively influence stakeholders. Work with an external advisory panel, curators, artists and the diverse communities of Auckland to develop a public art programme characterised by quality, innovation, richness and surprise.
Auckland is the arts and cultural heart of the Pacific. The city's rich arts stem from indigenous Maori foundations, a well-connected contemporary art scene, and vibrant Pacific cultures.
