Contract Fixed Term: Mid April – 31 October 2010
Hours: Months of April, May, June and October Between 15-18 hours per week (to be discussed and confirmed)
Hours: Months of July, August, September Between 30-36 hours per week (to be discussed and confirmed)
Fee: $28 per hour
Group: Art & Industry Biennial Trust Board
Responsible to: Art & Industry Biennial Trust Director with a coordination report to the Education and Public Programme Coordinator and the Public Art Project Manager
The duties of the Marketing & Publicity Coordinator are given below:
Primary Purposes:
To prepare marketing and publicity plans for SCAPE 2010 Christchurch Biennial of Art in Public Space, manage the delivery of these plans including all press releases, media liaison (print, television radio and web). Be responsible for the collation, editing and production of all marketing materials to include broadsheet, brochures, signs, flags, and advertising. Be proactive in the management and promotion of individual artwork projects, education and public programme including opening weekend symposium.
All publicity and marketing delivery and outputs will be aligned to the following strategic priorities for SCAPE 2010
- Have as the central focus people in and around Christchurch
- Make art as accessible to as wide an audience as possible – a broad local target demographic of all people aged 15 years and above
- Target the various groups identified via audience segmentation with key messages to encourage participation and engagement with SCAPE 2010
- Stimulate excellent awareness and attendance so SCAPE 2010 receives both critical and public response
- Increase understanding and importance of public art in our society
- Continue to raise the profile of Christchurch as a leader for developing, delivering and promoting excellent public art
- Emphasise SCAPE 2010 as a point of difference for the city nationally and internationally.
Media and public relations, tourism, arts or cultural industry, marketing including social media, publication production, event co-ordination.
