Committee Members
Lopdell House Gallery is a public regional gallery located in Titirangi that exhibits contemporary New Zealand art in all its creative diversity, and includes education and public programmes.
Lopdell House Society Inc has a funding agreement with Waitakere City Council that provides 59% of the total operating budget, including $82,000 for rent. The Gallery raises the remaining funds from government grants, retail, venue hire, individual donations, corporate and individual membership, charitable trusts and foundations and sponsorship.
The role of the Governance Committee of the Society is to provide oversight of the Gallery operation monitoring financial and legal obligations. Challenging times are ahead with the changes to local government in the region and the proposed new gallery extension to Lopdell House.
The Governance committee is mindful of the future growth of the Gallery, and the need to prepare for succession planning to ensure that the existing organisation is ready for an enlarged role and operation when the new gallery is constructed.
If you are a strategic thinker, or have business and legal experience and are available to attend regularly monthly meetings, in addition to exhibition openings and public programmes, workshops etc to provide support to the organisation, the committee would like to meet you.
Committee Members need to be strong advocates for the Gallery and be able to demonstrate a collegial working style.
This is a great time to get involved, if you think you have some skills to offer as a member of the Governance Committee come along to the AGM held on the top floor of Lopdell House at 2pm on Sunday 12 September 2010.
