Tuhi Centre for the Arts strives to involve members of the public in the ideas and work of today's artists reflecting current thinking across divergent Fine Arts practices. We are a public art gallery and arts centre where contemporary artists are at the core of the exhibition programme.

Te Tuhi Centre for the Arts is a nationally significant contemporary art centre presenting innovative exhibitions by regional and international artists to international standards. In recent years Te Tuhi has established itself as one of the premier public venues for contemporary art, in the Auckland region.  The centre also works actively providing a conduit for audience engagement and participation in the visual arts, underpinned by a highly active education and associated public programme.

Within this role there is tremendous scope for curatorial ideas and aspirations. We seek candidates who possess excellent curatorial acumen and display a sound knowledge of current theory and practice.

We require you to have proven skills in communication, project planning, management and practical abilities in the area of exhibition installation and design.

The ability to meet deadlines within agreed timeframes will be an essential skill set. You will need to demonstrate proven financial management and budget forecasting as this will be an important requirement. Also a desire to provide successful audience engagement with the ideas and works of the art is a motivation we will look for in the candidates.

Under your line management you will have one full time direct report, the Exhibitions Manager Assistant Curator and temporary installation staff.
