There are two position on offer here, art history for year one and two which focuses on NZ art and art history for year three and four, which focus on modernism, post modernism and some art theory along with professional studies for year three.

There are also positions available for design, life drawing and sculpture tutors. Ideally we are looking to appoint  practising artists to tutor art history and either design or life drawing and/or sculpture.

Applications will be accepted to tutor all the art history classes, years 1 - 4

The life drawing, design and sculpture tutor positions are also listed on the big idea.

B.A. or M.A in fine art is preferred, as it is advantageous for the art history tutors to have skills in art practice. Only applications from those with art history will be considered.

Art history is delivered to the following:

Certificate in Art and Craft & Certificate in Jewellery (level 4)

Diploma in Art and Craft & Diploma in Jewellery year 2 – level 5, year 3 level 6

Diploma in Art and Craft (Advanced) – level 7

Art history involves the investigation of art, culture and theory. Students develop their skills with regard to interpreting art works, art theory and learn to research and present essays on a variety of topics.

Other duties include:

-Following procedures and policies of the school, including health and safety policies.

-Assessing & reporting on student achievement and other associated administrative tasks.
