Sculptor
The scope of the project is a permanent bronze sculpture trail of Hairy Maclary and his gang – Scarface Claw, Slinky Malinky, Greywacke Jones, Hercules Morse, Muffin McLay, Bottomley Potts, Pimpernel Pugh, Schnitzel von Krumm, Mushroom Magee, Bitzer Maloney and Zachary Quack – through Tauranga City Centre boundaries.
The project requires unique sculptural designs that will provide a direct art experience that faithfully represents the specified Hairy Maclary characters while also “bringing them to life”. The integrated art elements will:
- Create a direct art experience for people
- Contribute a distinctive destination feature (act as a visual magnet)
- Contribute to a unique sense of place
- Enable the “Hairy Maclary” stories to be told in faithful, innovative and engaging ways
