The University of Canterbury has a vacancy for a full-time permanent Lecturer in Painting. This role encompasses teaching at undergraduate (including first year) and postgraduate levels and requires an active research practice, producing your own creative work for public exhibitions developing a national and international profile.
To apply you will have demonstrated excellence in teaching in a studio-based painting practice and have a strong grasp and understanding of a spectrum of painting methods including the ability to teach the techniques of oil painting. You will have a desire to focus on the needs of students, encouraging them to experiment and challenge ideas and methods.
Your application should address how you meet the person specifications as detailed in the position description, and be supported by a portfolio of at least 20 images of recent work in electronic files submitted on CD or DVD. Applicants require an MFA or equivalent.
