Job description:

Taranaki Newspapers is looking for a Journalist to join the energetic editorial team in our Hawera Bureau. The applicant needs a journalism qualification and experience in the industry.

The successful applicant will work under the day to day direction of the Bureau Chief on general news and feature assignments in South Taranaki. As an essential part of the local community, the newspapers strive to improve and advocate for the well-being of the people in its circulation area which is reflected in the key criteria.

The successful applicant would be expected to live in Hawera and write lively news and feature stories of interest to the local community and the region. This is a great opportunity for a newcomer to carve their niche and gain experience in a busy regional office.

This is a 40 hour a week full time position based at our Hawera Bureau. Remuneration will be commensurate with the position and experience. A valid driver's licence for a manual vehicle is required.
