The CLL/NZSA Research Grants
Two awards to assist writers of proven merit in the researching of either a fiction or non-fiction project. One grant is the CLL/NZSA Stout Centre Research Grant which will be based in Wellington; the other grant is the CLL/NZSA Open Research Grant which will allow the recipient to research anywhere within New Zealand. The NZ Society of Authors (PEN NZ Inc) is the principal advocate for the professional interests of New Zealand's writers. Protecting basic rights to freedom of expression, working to improve income and conditions, promoting New Zealand writing and literary culture.
Branches: Northland, Auckland, Central Districts, Wellington, Top of the South, Canterbury and Otago/Southland.
We also run member only programmes such as our mentor programme,manuscript assessment programme and a manuscript appraisal service; administers awards and fellowships; provide advice on aspects of publishing including contracts.
