Do you know exactly how many points Dan Carter scored against the Springboks in 2007? You could be the person for this job.

3news.co.nz is looking for a part time Online Sports Editor. You must have good knowledge of all of New Zealand's major sports (including football since the World Cup!) and have a flair for interesting sports writing. You must be able to work well under time pressure.

You will answer to the Chief Editor of 3news.co.nz and work alongside our existing sports editor. Responsibilities will include - writing interesting, amusing and informative live updates on big matches, writing original sports stories, sourcing, selecting and placing sports stories, writing headlines and captions and cutting video and pictures.

Skills you will need:

1. Journalism qualification or work experience of at least a year
2. Ability to write concisely and with flair
3. Excellent grammar and punctuation
4. A good general knowledge of New Zealand and overseas sports
5. An obsession with online media
6. Website experience a bonus - as is video editing

This job is for 23 hours a week - working Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
