Auckland’s leading magazine needs a new art director. The role involves planning the design and visual content of the magazine, commissioning photographers and illustrators, directing and styling photo shoots, organising and supervising casual design staff, designing and laying up pages, liaising closely with editorial and production personnel, working on brand-related projects (e.g marketing material), and constantly breathing fresh creative life into the magazine.
The successful applicant will be an experienced editorial designer, thoroughly competent with Indesign, and competent in Photoshop. You will be reading journalists' copy quickly and coming up with original design concepts, so fluency in English is important.
