The Southland Times newspaper, located in southern New Zealand within easy driving distance of the internationally renowned alpine resort of Queenstown and the recreational lakes of Central Otago, is seeking a dynamic deputy editor. 

You will already be a newsroom leader with strong news sense, excellent leadership skills and work best in a fast paced environment. 

The deputy editor we are looking for will preferably have web experience, if not, you must be web savvy and excited by the new opportunites that digital media offers our industry. Working with the editor, you will lead a team of enthusiastic and professional journalists, sub-editors and photographers through the changes required in creating a newsroom for the future.
 
The position offers an excellent remuneration package including superannuation and medical insurance.
