Job description: 

Te Tuao Tawahi Volunteer Service Abroad (VSA) is looking for a person with initiative, drive, great interpersonal skills and a successful track record in marketing and communications. You will plan, develop and implement strategies to grow support for and the profile of VSA through effective multi-media communications.

Person profile includes:

  • Experience developing and planning communications and publicity strategies
  • Proven public relations, communications and journalism experience with established media contacts
  • A sound understanding of public profile marketing and relevant tools
  • A high level of interpersonal and communication skills including excellent writing skills, including proven ability to write for paper-based and web-based media and social networking purposes
  • The ability to think outside the square to initiate opportunities and stories appropriate to various media and events
  • The ability to provide sound advice and training to VSA staff and volunteers on communication and media practices including experience in issues and crisis management
