Markham Arts

Drawing on Sally Markham’s diverse experience, Markham Arts works across all facets of the youth arts sector.  To see some examples of our work, have a look at our recent projects.  Areas of expertise include:

Evaluation and feasibility reports

Drawing on many years creating youth arts education projects, Markham Arts are ideally placed to evaluate the effectiveness of existing projects and the feasibility of continuing them.

Every evaluation and feasibility report is unique to the organisation and project.

Evaluation reports measure success against the educational and/or arts goals of completed projects.  Projects being evaluated are also considered within a national and international context.

Feasibility studies typically review organisations proposed projects against their stated aims and provides an opinion.  These reports can include recommendations for actions that would help the project achieve its goals.

Programme development

Arts education programmes, done well, are a valuable component for any arts programme, theatre production, or festival.  Markham Arts can work with you to develop a programme that suits your needs.  Some examples of what is possible are:

  • Residencies
Artists work within school/s over a sustained period.  Residencies provide the opportunity for students to engage deeply with the arts and work towards a specified goal.
  • Audience development
Working with arts organisations wanting to engage with a wider community or youth audience; Markham Arts will develop both short and long-term strategies and recommendations.
  • Festival family days
A family day or weekend needs more than events to make it a success.   Drawing on over 10 years of experience producing family events, Markham Arts will work with you to tailor a family event that enhances and supports your wider festival programme.

Arts Education programmes

Aligning an arts education programme to the New Zealand Curriculum adds to a schools teaching and learning programme.
