G design
G design offers workshops for those who want to learn to screen print, also a space for experienced screen printers to work.
I learned screen printing while studying a Bachelor of Visual Arts and Design Degree at NMIT in Nelson, I discovered once I graduated I couldn't continue printing as there was no where that offers this facility, so I decided to set-up from home; providing a place for others (like myself) to continue printing.
Everything is supplied, you can walk in and start.
Workshops run for two days
Day one teaches the screen printing process, from emulsioning, stencil creating, through to cleaning screens. Afternnon tea is provided. Then it is hands on exposing screen, and the fun stuff! printing.
Day one is about getting an idea about what works and what doesnt, it is about pushing ideas and EXPERIMENTATION, play and see what happens.
Day two you need to have a clearer insight into what you are wanting to do, ie design for artwork, design for T'shirt (T'shirt provided and included in price) text and image for paper printing, or perhaps perspex, ceramic printing..what ever else you may wish to try.
G design also offers full colour and B&W copying, printing supplies and a range of 100% cotton T'shirts.
