I am a 25 year old film student at the end of my diploma in Film and Television from South Seas Film and TV School. I have a Bachelor of Communications from Massey University, majoring in Media and Expressive art and I am a Women in Film and Television (WIFT) intern, 2011.

Assistant Director Experience

  • 1st AD for ‘Short Cuts’ working alongside Jen Butcher, professional 1st AD.  Also completing 2nd and 3rd AD roles in this module.
  • Selected out of 25 students for 1st AD role for ‘What Next’ - South Seas Major Collaborative Production.
  • 1st AD for ‘A Difficult Man’ non-funded short film.
  • 1st AD for various other small film exercises throughout my diploma, 2011.
  • Have learnt the fundamentals of the AD role:
          Scheduling
          Log cast/crew arrivals on set
          Checking safety
          Communication with HODs.

    I have always been a storyteller. I became passionate about film after entering the national TV2's competition in 2003, at the age of seventeen; I received a placement in the top 21. This began my passion and dream of film – a dream I have pursued ever since. I am a very organised person and I thoroughly enjoy being an assistant director. Catharsis is my ultimate goal and one I want to spend the rest of my life pursuing.
