Joel Le Blanc

I'm a creative and sharp-focused writer and editor, who uses his experience in the health and alternative medicine fields to educate others on research and development within the industry. 

I love to gain new knowledge and understanding of different subjects, and to share what I glean with others. 

In addition to my work as a writer, I give advice to clients on natural medicine and nutrition, and spend a lot of time learning and developing my organic garden.

Creative achievements: 

I am a freelance writer, book reviewer, poet, and amateur ocaranist. 

I have published 300+ articles on various websites, focusing on subjects including health, wellness, nutrition, creativity, literature, gardening, culture and history. 

In 1997 I won 1st prize in a poetry competition in Alberta, Canada. Since then I have gone on to publish writing in Semaphore Magazine, Poetry NZ, Voiceprints 3 and Very Bad Poetry. 

In 2011 I was selected out of 100+ applicants to take part in a special fiction writing course at the University of Canterbury.

    Joel is a qualified medical herbalist, NLP practitioner, Reiki teacher and professional writer. His work includes articles on health, literature, creativity and alternative medicine, and has been featured on various websites, including eHow, Livestrong Nutrition, and Local.com. In addition, Joel is a member of Speculative Fiction NZ, writes speculative fiction poetry and has had his writing published in ezines, print publications, and anthologies.

    Currently Joel is working towards completing his BA in English Literature while working as a freelance writer, and is is the editor of a mythic fiction e-zine called Wildberries.
