Richard Clark
After 21 years of New Zealand, 20 of Sydney, 20 in New York & Venice Beach, I returned to Aotearoa for another crack at my homeland.
First I restored a run down vineyard in the Wairarapa, produced an excellent vintage, sold out and am now back to my creative love of film, photography and writing. I have a somewhat quirky view of life and the world around me, however, I am open to sharing my experience with like minded creatives. I am open to collaboration, film editing|story doctoring|creative liaisons|freelance gigs and more . . . I have my own Studio in Featherston where I edit film, photography and write.
Film Editing . . . "where the bullshit stops and film making begins!" - Marty Scorsese
I am an emotional story teller, I work hard at finding the gems others leave behind. I enjoy taking risks, innovation, exploration of my physical, and philosophical worlds. I am skilled in FCP, AVID, even FILM . . . if anyone asks!
I also shoot Digital Images on Sony HD, DVCam, MiniDV & capture images on Leica and Noblex Digital/Film Systems. I have a vast experience in Film Opticals and enjoy an innovative approach to current post techniques.

American Reunion aka Dogma17. Film Editor/Associate Producer/Post Producer - Independent Film USA 2004 Shot Mini DV blown to 2K Film, screening across America and now available on Video. Review 1. "See this movie if it comes to your town! A sweet, touching, funny little piece of cinema about what happens to our goals and dreams as we get older. For anyone 30 or older, you'll appreciate the sheer panic of coming back to your high school reunion, while not quite living up to your dreams. I mean, how many people actually go on to succeed in the career they picked out for themselves when they were 18? How many kept that darling figure, that sports ability, that same close circle of friends? This movie weaves about 6 different stories together, slowly revealing secrets, motives, and histories as it goes along. It is a delicate, funny, sobering look at life. Great acting, great directing. I recommend this." Review 2. "Within the vibrant and diverse tapestry of the small town of Ojai, California, American Reunion spans the twenty-four hours before the 20th high school reunion of the class of 1981. Five friends, one younger brother and a mysterious photojournalist are brought together through the efforts of the town's high-spirited Latina mayor, Margaret, who is determined to reunite her old core group of high school friends and remember the "good times." Also, responsible for writing the reunion's opening speech, Margaret struggles to formulate the right words, believing she should focus on the trends, fads and cool fashions of 1981. However, by the end of the twenty-four hours, she understands that it is not about memories or moments, but rather about what kind of people they have become, versus who they were then. The tale centers upon the characters' personal reunions with the truths they are facing at this juncture in their lives: Patrick retiring from the Army because it didn't fit his lifestyle; Ty meeting the son he once fled from as an obstacle to his music career; Mindy signing divorce papers for the fifteen-year marriage she never thought would end; Brad, once the Golden Boy, finding peace in his occupation as a simple bus driver; J.C., the coke head younger brother of deceased graduate Brian, now running the pizza place that was Brian's dream; Jeanie, the mystery graduate, revealing her secret to the group, coming to terms with who she was then and who she is now; and finally Mayor Margaret, always the over-achiever, as she forges ahead in an effort to prove her self-worth. Finding humor in the trials and tribulations of our life and the paths we choose, the tale shows how life continues to repeat itself for the next generation, while leaving us with the understanding that sometimes you have to go back to find your future."

Richard,
today I am editing my film, photography and writing.
That's what I do, that is my creative life. I am open to sharing it with others on projects that interest and challenge me. I like to work outside the box rather than talking about it.
First and foremost I am a Story Teller. I have my own FCP edit suite and bring a somewhat unique, quirky aspect to my editing and am always, always driven by the content. I love technology and have a distinct work flow based on 40 years of Film Editing in Sydney, New York, Hollywood. I have been well rewarded, recognized and Internationally awarded for my Spots, Docs, Indie Films.
. . . it's that simple.
