Glen Davis

As an artist, i want to communicate with the viewer on an aesthetic and intuitive level, by making sculpture that expresses archetypal ideas and concepts.

Lately I have been working with sphere's and disks that intersect each other, and mixing freeform mobius loops with geometric shapes. I mainly work in hard stone (Marble/Granite/Andesite), but i also enjoy working in wood .

In 2006 i was commissioned to design and carve a 3 ton boulder of Basalt for the redevelopment of Matakana Village. This was commissioned through 'Isthmus Landscape Architect's' based in Auckland.

The Matakana Sculpture Event is an event that i organise have organised in Matakana. The event has not been held for a few years now, but we are looking at holding it again in the near future.

I also run a small landscape design company in Matakana called "LANDesign" and would love to find a way to blend my sculpture and landscaping skills together.
