Im from Rotorua. My Marae is in Ruatahuna. I'm an Artist. I paint, draw and carve. Sometimes I make dreamcatchers. I am a schizophrenic. I have passed through the worst stages of it and despite it, am continuing to produce my work. In fact I feel as if I am a member of an exclusive club! A man ahead of his era. No 9-5 for me. Plenty of time to chip away at a painting... I would like to produce my music someday, pending hardware. Sometimes I have fun with the other muso's at jam night. I have had enough of playing in bands.
Painting, Drawing, Carving. A bit of creative writing. Solve problems. Methodical dogmatic irrepressible work ethic. Sense of humour.
High school education. Some computer courses, Music Module in Rotorua, Amway dream weekend. Good books.
School Cert 1987. My parents told me I had to stay at school til I got SC. So, I knuckled down and got it, and left! Free to draw at last, my life on the dole... Studied Security Related Law to level 3. Failed to complete the course. It was interesting to learn about what you can get in trouble for, but I am an Artist. Not a security guard. Studied Computers via correspondence. Failed to complete the course. Scored some more NZQA credits and learnt how to copy and paste. Priceless.

Produced a tokotoko. "Te Tokotoko O Te Arikinui". It took 15 years to carve! A good lesson in persistance with an aim to complete the work. Failed the donation process at Te Papa Museum. It is for sale. Produced a lot of drawings, recently taken a keen interest in smearing Impasto on canvas.
