Simon has 6 years of TV and Film experience under his belt. He has helped provide award winning TV programmes in the UK and Cannes Film Festival Nominations for his input into production and communication skills. Currently freelancing in Wellington, he has worked on Drama's such as "Aftershock" by The Gibson Group, Feature Films "Under the Mountain" and "Predicament", Short Films like "Choice Nite" and "Six Dollar Fifty Man" and has had a strong working relationship with Commercial TV companies within the region working as a runner, unit manager and 1st Assistant Director. His latest project has been with acclaimed Director Julian Arahanga working on the historical documentary for Maori TV "Dancing in the Sky" as 2nd Assistant Director.
I am a hard working, multi facitated and talented person. I have been working in the Film and TV industry for over 5 years in the UK and New Zealand, from a position as Teaboy right up to 1st Assistant Director. I have links to broadcasters in America and Europe through the companies I have worked with in the past and have played the middle man in forging relationships with directors in New Zealand and companies in the US and UK. I am a great team player and am willing to be trained and educated as well as offering my own experience to the situation. I am not afraid of the hard graft and have ample references to proove when times get tough I can always be relied upon. I have excellent knowledge and use of Panasonic DVX100 and Sony PD170 cameras and have been trained to use Sennheiser Sound mixing equipment on location. I am currently receiving training in Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premier Pro Editing to advance and extend my skills.
