Sarah Powell
I am a 21 yr old recent graduate of a Bachelor of Creative Industries. This included a 3 year study of Fine Arts in a BFA course at Whanganui Ucol. It also included various business and entrepurnurial papers. In my final year I was required to undertake a Industry Project, within my chosen field and within the Wanganui community. I was placed within the Whanganui Regional Museum and for 9 months I worked within the Ethnology department, documenting and conditioning over 1200 artifacts from around the pacific rim. I set up a small studio and had access to photography equipment, which included remote shooting from a laptop. My final graduation exhibition showcased the work I undertook while at the Museum, and also a series of artistic work from my studio practice in fine arts.
After graduating I moved to nelson and worked at the World of Wearable Arts & Classic Car Museum, immersing myself into a whole other world within an entirely new creative industry. After the summer tourist season died down I found myself still wanting to do more photography and make my life more creative. So I have recently moved to Wellington in hopes of finding a photography career for myself, within the commercial industry,
