Currently working as Concerts Co-ordinator at Chetham's School of Music, 
Manchester which is the largest music school in the UK. In my current position 
I am responsible for the planning, organisation and delivery of all student 
performances (internal and external) and other related school 
events/performances. In my first year in the position I successfully managed 
337 internal and external concerts including orchestral performances at the 
Royal Festival Hall, Cadogan Hall, Manchester Bridgewater Hall and the 
Royal Northern College of Music. 

Previously I worked as Outreach Projects Co-ordinator at the BBC 
Philharmonic Orchestra, which is one of 6 BBC performing groups. In this 
position I was responsible for creating, organising and managing a variety of 
education and outreach projects and my organisation of school visits across 
the North West of England led to over 1000 pupils attending open rehearsals. 

I have also gained experience of the Film Music Industry working as a Music 
Production Assistant for FMPTV. Here I worked with producer Steve 
McLaughlin (Die Hard, Lethal Weapon, About a Boy) and composer Ilan 
Eshkeri (Stardust, Layer Cake, Hannibal Rising, Young Victoria) on a variety of 
projects including producing transcriptions for an Annie Lennox project and 
gaining my first credit for writing arrangements for a British horror movie - 'The 
Disappeared'. 

Worked at Marlborough Boys' College, Blenheim, for a year teaching piano, 
violin and english on a one-to-one basis.

Chetham’s School of Music is the largest specialist Music-school in the UK and the only Music school based in the North of England.

 

Responsibilities

► To plan, organise and deliver all student performances (internal and external) and other related school events/performances

► To physically prepare large-scale school productions e.g. stage management, transportation of large ensembles/orchestras etc.  

► Ensure students’ welfare and their safety is always maintained and provided for in any planned excursion off site

► Act as the central point of contact for external contractors booking any student ensemble: liaising logistical information, confirming and preparing contracts, arrange for any venue risk assessments/site visits to be carried out as required

► To facilitate excellent and up-to-date lines of communication with all department staff and external organisers

► Financal logging and invoicing for fees; ensuring all payments are received by due dates

► To maintain internal school communications such as venue bookings and maintaining/updating the schools schedule of activities

Achievements

► During first year in the position successfully managed 337 internal and external concerts from planning through to delivery

► Have managed orchestral concerts at such venues as the Royal Festival Hall, Cadogan Hall, Manchester Bridgewater Hall and the Royal Northern College of Music amongst many others

►Entrusted with the responsibility of planning an orchestral tour to Italy and various ensemble tours to Poland (2), Norway, Jersey and Northumberland

The BBC Philharmonic Orchestra is one of six BBC performing groups. Based in the Manchester, it is the only BBC group to be placed in the North of England and the orchestra performs in concert venues across the area.

 

Responsibilities

Representing a world-renowned orchestra

To ensure everyone involved in an education and community project has a memorable experience

Create, organise and manage a variety of education and outreach projects  

Develop existing work and initiate new projects that explore the creative use of multi-media and new technologies
