Mathew Gleeson is an illustrator graphic designer & aspiring Art Director based in Wellington City, New Zealand. He has worked on a range of projects for magazines, record labels and local companies. I am an energetic, conscientious and passionate person who is satisfied with work only of the highest quality. I thrive in a creative environment and am a generous team contributor. I enjoy the challenge of taking on a difficult task and am capable of working both independently and collaboratively. I posses a great energy, enthusiasm and love for the craft of design.
I have completed a Bachelor of Design (honours) and have relevant professional industry experience with in the interactive design sector. I have generated interactive media for local and international companies including The Hype Factory, Flying Nun Records, Career Services and CISAA Australia. I have completed a variety of commercial work over a broad range of creative modes and outputs, from web (including design, layout and development) to graphic design (pre-press, documentation, brochures, books and booklets) to illustration (commercial advertising, promotional illustration and educational illustration).
My best attributes are my attention to detail, my ability to express ideas clearly and concisely and my excellent problem solving skills. I am a hard working and diligent person. I am always actively contributing towards, and furthering my understanding of, national and international creative culture.

In 2008 I took a year off from my studies to gain industry experience, taking up a full time position at Concept22 Mixed media Agency. In this role I gained valuable experience in working across a broad range of creative modes and outputs. I had sole responsibility of a number of briefs for both web and print media and produced a variety of design solutions for the firm’s clients. I produced illustrations, brochures, websites and more. I regularly liaised with clients, working with them to create high quality and innovative design solutions. Skills gained include:

In this role I designed and co-edited a career awareness resource intended to guide high school students and young adults through ways to determine a personal career path. This educational publication contained games, diagrams, images, stories and supporting text. Skills gained include:
