I have been making stained glass for more than 20 years and over 1000 panels have sold through my galleries.
I love working with bright colours and the energy of light which changes hour by hour thorughout the day.
I find designing exciting and I am always excited by the challenge of another commission client that seeks my tallents as I draw something up just for them. I also have a steady stream of new ideas that I keep on paper, they litter my mind and space and yet there is always more!
In an artistic burst of energy and ego I spent weeks self funding and making Australias single largest pane of stained glass the "Garden of Eden", that was in the early 1990's. It had slumped, fused and painted glass and an expansive bent steel frame.
These days I am driven by the beauty of NZ, the sheer range of colours just bring joy after living in Australia for so long. All the colours and styles from the 1970's and coming home to NZ have driven all my new Stained Glass pieces on show in my gallery, so come and see.

I will sit with clients and design on the spot from their photos, darwings and ideas. I keep within their budget or it just a waste of time. I see one of my tallents as being able to create a design on the spot for clients even if they come to me with no ideas to start with.
When it comes to glass I just seemed to be able to do it from the first time I pick up a glass cutter. I then proceeded to do what others said I couldn't and made my own way ahead which all seemed to happen very quickly. I am not saying that to skite but rather to encourage all those people gifted with artistic skills who never did well at school. You don't need a piece of paper with writing to tell folks you can make something you just need a photo and get out there and show people!
My drawing abilities seem to come from my English grandmother and I spent much of my time as a shcool child sick in bed with the only form of entertainment reading and drawing, so I would read a story book and then draw the pictures to go with it. My father was very anti art I was not allowed to do art after 3rd from in school even though it was by far my best subject.........never really good at any other subjects at school....poor old dad.
Queensland Governement approached me [after researching my work] to initiate a training program for Apprentices in Stained Glass. I trained apprentices for a number of years so I hope the art is still growning in Queensland.
I taught for North Tech from my business. Over the years I taught 100's of hobbiests some of whom went on to make good money from stained glass and I still enjoy teaching.
