Andrew Charles Bishop
I am creative, inventive, adaptable and a visual thinker.
Developing design solutions for an array of clients from individuals to large corporations and Rock Stars to Prime Ministers.
Growing up in the family of a mechanic and a teacher, I was expected to analyse the problem, and then to devise a solution using the resources at hand. I spent years modifying toys to go faster, higher, further, and look better.
My varied toolbox of skills and experiences enable me to work through the human centred design process from wicked problem, through fast prototyping, and on to the finished product.
I am enamoured with the re-purposing of materials; turning out new products from those that have been discarded by others.
Specialties
Connecting the dots, interviewing, lateral thinking, visualisation, prototyping, systems analysis, testing, getting the ducks in line, perpetual student.
I am experienced at designing everything from high fashion ball gowns to shop interiors, marketing material and campaigns, to producing fashion shows.
My strengths are being able to visualise a design, then put that design into a visual format. A high level communicative skill set enables me to communicate the concept and it's complexities to production staff on shore or offshore. Calm and proactive in a crisis, a career involving self employment and as an employee allows me to better understand the need of the business to make profits for the stake holders both shareholders and staff
