Sam brings nearly two decades of creative leadership to The Big Idea
as its new Chief Executive, beginning 26 August 2024. An arts entrepreneur,
copywriter-turned-leader, he's led marketing, operations, and creative ventures
across major NZ creative organisations—including Basement Theatre, Boosted,
NZ Fashion Week, and Auckland Live—while co-founding Dead Bird Books,
SOAP Dancehall, and Strange Haven/Strange Goods. A seasoned producer,
curator, mentor, and facilitator respected across New Zealand's creative sector.
