Auckland New Ballet is proud to present their inaugural season of work, Folklore, a ballet performance in 2 acts.
Presented at the stunning Holy Trinity Cathedral with live accompaniment by the Kulios Ensemble, Folklore celebrates humanity’s enduring fascination with myth, fairytale and fable.
This is ballet as you've never experienced it - up-close, immersive and intimate.
Folklore is presented in 2 acts:
Tales of the Past - A selection of exciting excerpts from the classical ballet repertoire including Giselle, Raymonda, Don Quixote, Swan Lake and more.
Songs of Tomorrow - Three brand new neoclassical works choreographed by and for members of Auckland New Ballet.
Choose from one of two Evening performances or our Quiet Matinee - a sensory-friendly, family-oriented experience with lower sound and lighting and open doors for freedom to enter and exit throughout the performance.
Each performance concludes with a Q+A with the dancers onstage for audience members to connect with our Artists about the performance - this is your chance to ask anything you've ever wanted to know about ballet!
