Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s iconic Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat bursts onto the Q Theatre stage this September and October in a bold, high-energy new production from Auckland’s LNR Productions.
Blending pop-concert lighting, modern choreography and a fresh visual aesthetic with the music and infectious energy audiences have loved for generations, this Joseph is a colourful theatrical celebration designed for all ages.
The production brings together an extraordinary lineup of Kiwi performers and creatives, including Andrew Papas (& Juliet, Titanium), Nick Hall / Anita Wigl’it (RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under, Priscilla Queen of the Desert), Andrew Allemora (The Traitors NZ, Hairspray, Priscilla Queen of the Desert), Patrick Kelly (Les Misérables, Jesus Christ Superstar, The Phantom of the Opera, NZ Opera) and Sophie Rado (Stand Up Again podcast).
Directed by Pform.nz founder Tracey Stretton, with guest choreography from James Luck - internationally recognised as Elektra Shock from RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under - the production celebrates the extraordinary talent being created right here in Aotearoa.
At its heart, Joseph is an uplifting celebration of dreaming big, resilience and pure theatrical joy, a show built to leave audiences smiling, laughing and walking out of the theatre a little lighter.
