We're looking for a Marketing Lead - Visitor Experiences to be the sole marketing lead for our entire visitor portfolio, including Discover Whanganui (RTO), the Whanganui isite, Council venues, and visitor events.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead Whanganui's destination marketing strategy and campaigns
  • Promote our venues, events, and visitor services
  • Manage our digital presence across Discover Whanganui and social media
  • Work with iwi, tourism operators, and national tourism bodies
  • Champion the Whanganui brand locally, nationally, and internationally

You will bring:

  • Proven success in tourism, destination, or event marketing
  • Strong digital and storytelling skills
  • The ability to work strategically and deliver on the ground
  • A passion for authentic place branding
