About the Role 
The Operations Co-ordinator plays a central role in planning and delivering CMNZ tours and events, as well as supporting our Te Whitinga Oro community engagement activities. You will work closely with artists, venues, agents and our nationwide team to ensure each event is well planned, well communicated and delivered to a high standard. 

This role sits within the Artistic Delivery & Communities team and spans scheduling, logistics, venue liaison, travel arrangements, production coordination and on-the-ground support when required. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Develop and implement annual touring schedules across multiple centres  

  • Liaise with venues to secure bookings and maintain strong working relationships 

  • Coordinate travel and accommodation for artists, staff, adjudicators and community programmes  

  • Prepare and monitor operational budgets in collaboration with the Manager of Artistic Delivery & Communities  

  • Plan and manage artist itineraries, including visas and tax requirements where relevant  

  • Support Concert Managers nationwide with information, problem-solving and event logistics  

  • Liaise with contractors and venues regarding production requirements  

  • Keep abreast of Health and Safety standards and ensure all CMNZ events meet required protocols  

  • Support the delivery of the NZCT Chamber Music Contest through venue liaison, scheduling and adjudicator logistics  

  • Positively contribute to the wider team environment and undertake additional tasks as needed 
     

About You 
You will bring strong organisational skills, excellent communication, and the ability to build trust and rapport across a wide network. You’ll be comfortable balancing multiple priorities, have sound judgement, attention to detail and enjoy working collaboratively in a small, committed team. 

Skills and Experience  

  • Well-developed relationship management and interpersonal skills   

  • Strong organisational and project management abilities   

  • Experience tracking costs  

  • Knowledge or appreciation of the arts   

  • Knowledge or experience working with performance venues   

  • Ability to solve problems calmly and effectively   

  • A full driver’s licence and confidence driving long distances is desirable   

  • A tertiary qualification, knowledge of production elements, and a current first aid certificate (or willingness to obtain one) are desirable
