We’re Hiring Experienced Art Educators — High Standards, High Trust Role

Creative Matters delivers high-quality art programmes to children aged 5–13 across Auckland.

We are a values-driven, growing business focused on creativity, structure, and child safety. Our work is hands-on, engaging, and designed to support children’s confidence and creative thinking.

We operate with clear expectations and high standards. Our educators are trusted to take ownership, communicate well, and deliver consistently without being managed closely.

This is a high-trust, sole-charge role delivering structured art sessions in schools and holiday programmes. The ideal candidate will have teaching experience and recognized, formal qualifications. You will be responsible for managing groups of up to 13 children, following lesson plans, and maintaining a safe, engaging environment at all times.

Opportunities include:

• October School Holiday Programme (standby / sick over shifts)

• Term 4 After School Programme (starting late October/ week 2 of term)

• December & January - School Holiday Program

• Our current gap sits in the Waimauku / Huapai areas particularly, however we are always recruiting Auckland-wide

What this role requires:

• Consistent reliability (early, prepared, and dependable)

• Confidence managing children independently

• Clear, prompt communication

• Ability to follow processes exactly (especially safety-related)

• Initiative and problem-solving without supervision

All lesson plans and materials are provided.

Onboarding expectations:
Our onboarding process is structured and time-sensitive.
All steps must be completed within required timeframes (including a 72-hour onboarding window and full completion 1 week prior to your first shift).
