Call for proposals

We're a small, hands-on team showcasing work by some of NZ's favourite sculptors and emerging artists too, in one-hectare of lush native bush with three ephemeral ponds. We have a loyal database; visitor numbers and sales are excellent; and the experience you have showing with us should be relaxed and rewarding.

Our Annual Autumn Exhibition runs over the first three weekends of March. We're also open by appointment during week throughout the exhibition period, and throughout the year.

Based in Christchurch, just 25 mins drive from the CBD, Tai Tapu Sculpture Garden is a must see.  In addition to showcasing sculpture TSG is a native regeneration project, attracting artists, collectors, botanists, ecologists, lifestyle block owners, and more.

We are interested in concepts for three-dimensional sculpture in all media suitable for outdoor exhibition; and   participatory, socially-engaged or performance works; sound pieces and light works. All new and original work will be considered. Please note: generally, we do not exhibit work that has recently been shown elsewhere, particularly locally, as we aim to offer our visitors a fresh exhibition. 

Works must be robust enough to withstand the extremes in weather in this stunning outdoor environment: it gets hot, windy, cold and wet! The deadline for proposals is 10 October 2026. Works are installed in February 2027. And the exhibition runs over the first three weekends in March 2027.
