For eight weeks, Bee in the City will make its Wellington debut, transforming the city with a vibrant public art sculpture trail featuring 30 giant artist-designed bees and 20 community bees
Download the free map app to find and collect 30 giant artist-transformed bee sculptures and 20 school and community bees, unlocking partner rewards along the way. Each Bee has a unique code you'll see on its base, type it in to find out more about the artist's inspiration for this bee and unlock sweet rewards from our partners. You can download the Bee in the City free map app from either the Apple App store or Google Play. It will go live in time for trail opening day.
Prefer paper? Track your progress with printed trail maps from The Enormous Crocodile Bike shop off Herd St. Life Flight and Bee merchandise will be on sale including bee stickers if you want to track you progress on the paper map.
Perfect for families and friends, workmates who need a lunchtime walk or kids during the school holidays, the trail promises buzz, colour, and excitement.
The giant bee sculptures will be auctioned to raise vital funds for Life Flight to help keep the Westpac Chopper and Air Ambulance Planes in the air and delivering urgent, lifesaving care.
Note that any Bee sculptures located indoors will have unique opening hours for viewing, please check the venue’s opening hours.
